Biography
Kobanyay is a French painter based in Troyes
She studied political sciences at Sciences Po Paris before pursuing her training at the Fine Art School of Versailles.
Her work explores the invisible density that connects beings and things, making it visible through organic forms and porous bodies that are never isolated. She captures moments of reconnaissance, not discovery, but the recognition of something already known.
Mathilde Brébant's painting is drawn to thresholds, those in-between states, twilight foremost among them, where a presence negotiates with its own existence.
Her figures inhabit the moment of tipping. Caught between dependence and sovereignty, between waiting to be saved and the act of saving themselves, they carry a silent tension, merged into their surroundings.
